Original colored pencil drawing with gold foil accents. Madonna with Child is depicts the Virgin Mary in a starry night landscape, her blue star-flecked mantle over a red gown. A golden halo frames her calm face as she rests one hand protectively over her belly, gesturing with one finger toward Christ. Within the curve of her body, the glowing form of the unborn Jesus is seen, also haloed, still nestled in the womb. The star of Bethlehem shines above.
